Medicare is the health insurance program which is available for the adults and disabled citizens of America. It provides absolute and affordable services of health care which includes medical, drug and hospital coverage without concerning the socioeconomic position. New Mexico Medicare eligibility requirements are not different for the residents than that of other states in the country, but there are some services of the state committed in helping the beneficiaries navigate the process of enrollment. Eligible beneficiaries should satisfy the requirements of enrollment period and at least one extra criterion, involving special medical conditions or age.

To be eligible for Medicare, an individual should be a citizen of the United States. To obtain premium free Medicare Part A, the individual must have employed in US for at least 10 years in America for a worker who paid taxes for the Medicare.
Most of the individuals qualify for the Medicare due to their age. However, the individuals need the age of 65 to qualify for the program for Medicare. If the individual is qualified for obtaining the benefits of Social Security or Railroad, he/she can be enrolled automatically in the Original Medicare when they attain the age of 65.
If the disabled individuals qualify to obtain the disability benefits of Social Security or Railroad insurance, they will not be eligible for the Medicare program until the 24th month of obtaining these benefits.
The individuals who are diagnosed with permanent kidney failure and Gehrig’s disease are automatically eligible for the Medicare program.
