Medicare Parts A and Part B which are also called as Original Medicare is a health insurance policy which is funded by the federal government for the individuals of age 65 and above. Original Medicare offers valuable services for health care requirements.
New Mexico offers health insurance policies to their residents who require health care needs. New Mexico Medicare Part B provides essential medical services like doctors’ services and outpatient care. The Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiaries (SLIMBs) and the Qualified Individuals (QIs) programs enroll the individual in the Medicare Part B insurance policy, if the individual’s income is below 120 percent of the Federal Poverty Level.
The Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiaries program was extended to provide services for the extra individuals group which is called as Qualified Individuals one, if the individual’s income is from 120 percent to 135 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. The candidate should be registered in Part A Medicare but Part A Medicare premium is not paid by the Medicaid. As the Part B Medicare premium payment is only an advantage, Medicaid card is not issued.
Medicare Part B also provides some medical services which Medicare Part A will not cover, like physical therapists, home care health and occupational therapists. Part B Medicare Helps in paying these provided services when they are necessary.
If an individual is getting Railroad Retirement or Social Security benefits, then that individual will be enrolled automatically in the Medicare Part B in the month of his/her 65th birthday. The disabled individuals even if they are under 65 years are automatically enrolled to the Medicare Part B if they receive disability benefits from Social Security.
